Care for the Mind, Body and Spirit

sun.jpg

Today’s families have more choices in selecting care for their loved ones.

With life expectancy continuing to rise, more and more of us need assistance as we age. While there are many different types of senior care available, adult day care centers are designed for older adults who can no longer manage independently, or who are isolated and lonely.  Sometimes family members or primary caregivers may feel reluctant to use adult day care services because they are unfamiliar, or because a loved one is hesitant to try something new.

The Wells Nursing Home, Adult Day Health Program is located in a specially designated area of Wells House. The Program offers all of the services of a nursing home in a day setting.

An Adult Day Health Program is a community-based program similar to adult day care but designed for elders and persons with disabilities who need a higher level of care, but can still benefit from receiving services in a group setting. Services provided include physical, occupational and speech therapies, nursing supervision, monitoring of vital signs, blood glucose, blood pressure, and medications, assistance with bathroom visits, dietary counseling and supervision, psychological counseling and an individualized plan of care. All services are supervised by trained geriatric specialists.

“ Without the program I don’t think my mother would still be with us.   She looks forward to every day now”. -Caregiver

We help people continue to live in the community by helping them achieve their highest level of functioning and independence.
